Since 2005 we have been deeply committed to responsible and ethical volunteering. Our mission is to create meaningful volunteer experiences that benefit our volunteers and our communities. Our volunteer programs are designed to support sustainable development and foster cultural exchange, while ensuring that our activities respect and empower the local communities. Kamalbe is always accepting volunteers, whether in the community or helping to spread the word through social media and fundraising. You don’t have to be enrolled in the school to participate. We are genuinely thankful for all volunteers who choose to help us.
The work itself Our programs are mostly concentrated in education so that they support and enrich the education offered by the local school. Volunteers will work with the community, participate and create volunteer projects and workshops of different themes, depending on their educational or professional background. The most popular activity involved teaching classes to women and children. Volunteers interested in teaching will create their own lesson plans and collaborate with Kamalbe to ensure the success of the lessons and make sure they are culturally appropriate.
Volunteer activities can include:
Teaching women and children
Painting and general maintenance of buildings in the Community
Helping generate funds
Helping develop public relationships between our organization and international organizations
Updating websites and social media with projects
Requirements: There are no specific qualifications required to join our volunteer programs. We will provide any necessary orientation and training to perform volunteer activities adequately.
Beginner to intermediate knowledge of Spanish is preferred. If you cannot speak Spanish, we recommend enrolling in our Spanish Language Studies program, which can run simultaneously to your volunteer project.
We welcome anyone who is enthusiastic to help, kind to others and open-minded to new ideas!
