1. All of our homestay families are 5-10 minutes walking distance from the school.
2. Your host family will provide you with the basic necessities of home, which are:
Many of our families speak little to no english. So this is a great chance to practice the Spanish you’re learning during the day and many families actually like to help students with their homework. If you need any help communicating with the family we are here to help. |
4. Schedule Just like living with your own family, communicating your schedule is important. We will tell your family your daily class schedule. Please, let your family know if you’re planning on eating out for dinner or lunch or if you’re going to be coming home late at night so they don't worry about you! 5. Activities with the family If you’re interested in activities your family is doing, for example cooking traditional food, going for a walk, weaving, etc, just ask them if you can join or help them. |
6. Guests
While you’re staying in Xela, you will most likely make some friends. Before bringing a guest to your homestay, please talk to your host family. Overnight guests are generally not allowed. 7. Added costs
*We know that the homestay experience isn't for everyone. Our staff frequently provide recommendations for hotels, hostels and guest houses near our school. |
