YOU CAN SEND A CHILD TO SCHOOL FOR JUST $25 US!
In Guatemala school starts in the last week of January but many of the children in Xecanchavox will not be attending, because their parents cannot afford to buy necessary school suppiles for the children. Without those children are not accepted to the school. So unfortunately the severe poverty in Xecanchavox often prevents children from attending school. Their families often don’t have enough to eat, let alone the money it takes to send their children to school.
Kamalbe wants to provide the necessary supplies for each child. It costs approximately $25 US to purchase a backpack and supplies: notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, ruler, scissors, a glue stick, erasers, sharpeners and water colour.
Every year we are looking to support at least 10 children, especially for those with single mothers for whom it is a real struggle to support their families.
We will buy the supplies ourselves here in Xela and give them to the children personally when we visit Xecanchavox before school starts in the last week of January. Afterwards, we will send you an email with the name and picture of the child who received “your” backpack!
